KOLLAM: After one day of anxious wait, the Kerala State Lottery Department Pooja Bumper first prize winner appeared before the lottery office on Thursday. The good luck fell on Dinesh Kumar of Karunagappally, who won the first prize of Rs 12 crore for his ticket bought from Jayakumar Lotteries in Kollam.

Dinesh bought ten tickets from the shop, and one among them has now changed his fortunes. When Dinesh Kumar came to know about the news, he called the owner of the lottery shop and informed him about the matter. Jayakumar Lotteries is located near the KSRTC bus stand in Kollam. Dinesh had long carried the habit of taking ten tickets at a time to try his luck. Finally, the trick has seen results.

“I had the intuition of hitting the bumper this time. I even waited for one day before revealing the news to my wife and children. I was here to attend the marriage function of my friend’s sister today.' said Dinesh.

When the result was announced yesterday, it was clear that the ticket sold in Kollam won the first prize. There were rumours about the winner being a sub-agent.

“Such rumours emerged because it was not common for a person to buy 10 tickets in bulk. So, the rumours of a sub-agent winning the prize spread.” said representatives of Jayakumar lotteries.
