KOCHI: NIA is conducting searches in various parts of Kerala in connection with absconding accused in the murder case of Yuva Morcha activist Praveen Nettaru. Searches were conducted at 16 locations in Karnataka alone. It is reported that searches are underway in Kerala, including Ernakulam.
The NIA chargesheet states that M.H. Thufail, a native of Kodagu, is the leader of the murder group and that he trained the others. The NIA has received information that the Popular Front formed a special team to murder Praveen and that Thufail had prepared hideouts for three people, including the main accused, in Mysore, Kodagu in Karnataka and Erode in Tamil Nadu.
The NIA has clarified in the chargesheet that Nettaru was murdered as part of the PFI's agenda to create fear among members of a community and create communal hatred and unrest in the society.
