Case registered against car owner in Kalarcode accident case, report to be submitted soon

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A case has been registered against the owner of the vehicle which collided with a KSRTC bus killing six medical students. A case has been registered against Shamil Khan of Kakkazham, the owner of the Tavera car rented by the students, under the Motor Vehicles Act. It was found that he had illegally rented the car to the students. The Motor Vehicles Department will submit a report to the court. The case was registered by Alappuzha Enforcement RTO R Ramanan.


The ghastly incident happened Monday night. The car carrying first-year medical students of Vandanam Medical College met with the accident. There were 11 students in the car. Sridev Valsan of Palakkad, Devanandan of Kottakkal in Malappuram, Muhammed Abdul Jabbar of Kannur, Muhammed Ibrahim of Lakshadweep and Ayush Shaji of Kottayam died on the day of the accident. One of the five students undergoing treatment for injuries died last evening. Alvin George of Edathua died the other day. A native of Thiruvananthapuram had escaped without any injuries. Two female bus passengers were also injured in the accident.
