‘Indrajith and Poornima intervened and saved our marriage from the brink of divorce,’ say Nihal and Priya

Nihal Pillai is an actor, who played a notable role with Prithviraj in the film Mumbai Police. Nihal is also Prithvi's cousin and is married to Priya Mohan, sister of Poornima, wife of actor Indrajith. The actor, who was also active in modelling, is now focused on his business.

The star couple said they were on the verge of divorce three years ago. Indrajith and Poornima intervened then and saved their marriage from the brink of divorce. The two opened up on social media something that happened in their lives due to frustration and thoughtlessness.

‘A big fight broke out between us three years ago. Can call it as mid-life crisis. We even met lawyers. There was no reason to talk about it. It was frustration and thoughtlessness. It must have been due to the financial situation then. The issues were during the birth of our son. The thought of a sudden divorce changed due to the intervention of our families that time. Anu (Poornima) and Indrettan (Indrajith) talked to both of us separately many times. If no one had intervened, we would have ended in a divorce. Indrettan and Anu told us to solve talking to each other, asked us to take some time,’ said Priya.

‘It is easy to separate these days, but solving the issue is difficult. Especially if girls are financially sound and have any problems in their marriage, the family will first say, ‘leave him and come, we will see. In these days where there is ego and financial independence, divorce is easy. But it's difficult to solve those problems. Spending more time together doesn't make relationships easier. In fact, that's when more frustration and problems arise. Our relationship started working when Priya got busy,’ reveals Nihal.
Priya said at the time of her marriage, she was acting in a serial. She was busy then. After the birth of her son (Vedu) she was at home throughout. Soon after her delivery, she went into depression. Change of hormones…full time baby sitting…at home…no work…fight started then, she said.

When Priya started focusing on her business, she became busy. She started experiencing happiness then. So, getting engaged in something is very important, added Nihal.
