Two children die after being swept away by strong waves at Puthenthurai beach in Nagercoil

NAGERCOIL: Two children from Tiruppur died after being swept away by strong waves at the Puthenthurai beach in Nagercoil. The deceased have been identified as Pratheesha (6) and Praneeth (5), the children of Tiruppur Palladam native Prabhakaran and Esther. The incident took place yesterday at the Puthenthurai beach. The children, who had arrived at the beach with their father, were swept away by strong waves while playing in the sea. Although fishermen nearby immediately carried out a rescue operation, both children died on the spot.
