THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the temperatures in the state will rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next three days. Special precautions are advised in light of the ongoing School Kalolsavam in the capital city.
Due to the high temperatures and humid air, the weather is expected to feel hot and uncomfortable. The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has issued warnings, as excessive heat can lead to conditions such as heatstroke, sunburns, and dehydration.
Construction workers, agricultural labourers, street vendors, and those involved in physically demanding jobs should modify their working hours to avoid peak heat hours. Fire audits should be conducted as the risk of fire incidents is higher during this period. Ensure proper safety precautions are in place.
