THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Raj Bhavan has voiced displeasure over the transfer of three police officers from the Governor's security detail prior to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar taking office. These officers were replaced by individuals trusted by the government. After allegations emerged that the transfer was intended to leak sensitive information, the Governor's Secretary sent a letter to ADGP Manoj Abraham, expressing discontent with the decision. As a result, the transfer of the officers was put on hold.
The two sub-inspectors (SI) and a senior civil police officer who used to accompany the Governor during travels and events were transferred. The transfers were carried out on the recommendation of the ADGP at the police headquarters without consulting the Raj Bhavan. Among those transferred, two officers were due for retirement soon. It was clarified that the transfers were made after assessing the fitness of those in the security detail. The Governor’s office also explained that ADGP Manoj Abraham had not been called to Raj Bhavan for this matter.
The Governor received a list of three junior SPs for the position of his ADC (Aide-de-Camp). The Governor will appoint one of them. Dr. Arul RB Krishna, who previously served as the ADC to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, was transferred and appointed as the Railway SP. Along with Governor Arlekar, a naval officer, Pratheesh, has also joined as OS (Officer on Special Duty).
