Malayali policewoman in New Zealand ties knot with Punjabi groom

PALA: The romantic relationship between Alina Abhilash, the first Malayali officer in the New Zealand Police, and Karanveer Singh Saini, a Punjabi, culminated in marriage in God's Own Country on Thursday. Yesterday, Karanveer tied the knot with Alina during a wedding ceremony held at Pala Cathedral Church, officiated by Fr. Robin Kurien Koyikkatil. The marriage function was attended by numerous people, including the couple's family members, friends, and well-wishers.

Karanveer proposed to Alina three years ago at a park in New Zealand. Later, the two conveyed their respective families about their relationship. Following this, the two families met and decided to host the wedding in Kerala.

Karanveer Singh Saini works as an Assistant Manager at Tommy Hilfiger in Auckland. His parents reside in Mumbai. His father, Harbhajan Singh Saini, is a businessman, and his mother, Harinder Kaur Saini, is a homemaker. Karanveer's only sibling, Manreet Kaur Saini, is a teacher.

Alina is the daughter of Ullanadu Pulickal native Abhilash Sebastian and Boby, who have settled in Palmerston North, New Zealand. After studying psychology and criminology at the University of Otago, Alina joined the New Zealand Police. She studied up to Class 6 at Chavara Public School in Pala before migrating to New Zealand with her parents. Her brother, Alby Abhilash, is a law student at Victoria College.
