INDORE: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in a controversial statement, said the Ram Mandir consecration day should be celebrated as true independence day of India. Mohan Bhagwat also demanded to celebrate Ram Temple Pratishtha Day as Pratishtha Dwadashi. He was speaking after awarding the National Devi Ahalya Puraskar to Champat Rai, General Secretary of Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Theertha Temple Trust, in Indore.

On January 22, 2024, the idol of Ram Lalla was installed in the Ayodhya temple in a ceremony led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to the Hindu lunar calendar, January 11, 2025, marks the completion of one year since the dedication ceremony.

“The Ram temple movement was not started to oppose anyone. It was for the country to stand on its own feet, to guide the world and to awaken itself. No religious riots or division took place even during last year’s Ram temple inauguration.” said Mohan Bhagwat.

Meanwhile, the UP government organized three days of celebrations as part of the Ram Temple Pratishtha Day anniversary celebrations. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the programs related to the celebration by anointing the Ram Lalla deity.
