THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said in a press conference that the party will decide at the appropriate time whether he will contest again in Dharmadom or not. When asked about PV Anvar's challenge that he was preparing to contest against the chief minister at Dharmadam, the chief minister's reply was with a laugh. “Isn't it part of Anvar's statement that I am contesting? It has not been decided. It is not for Anvar to decide whether I will contest or not.”
The Chief Minister also rejected Anvar's allegation that the move against him was supported by top CPM leaders. “That's not true. It's just something that many people want. Anvar did not have the support of the party leaders at any stage. There has been no move against the Chief Minister.”
The Chief Minister also rejected Anvar's allegation that the allegations of corruption against VD Satheesan were written and given by P Sasi. “My office is not involved in that. Anvar's allegation is part of the current political stance. It can mean a few things. Don't blame the Chief Minister and his office for that. You (the media) should find the reason to fall out with Anvar. Anvar coming to the Left, standing with the Left and the issues of that time should be evaluated.” The Chief Minister's reply was a laugh when asked whether the withdrawal of the Forest Act amendment could be credited to Anvar's resignation.
