PALAKKAD: A plus one student of Anakkara Government Higher Secondary School felt pangs of remorse and offered an apology for issuing death threats to his teacher the other day. The student apologized when Trithala police summoned him, as part of the investigation.

The student admitted to losing his temper after the teacher snatched away his mobile phone. He felt remorse over the incident and apologized. The student also requested the officials to help him continue with his studies at the same school.

Meanwhile, it has been informed that the Child Rights Commission will conduct counselling for the student and visit the school on February 6. Meanwhile, the school principal confirmed no disciplinary action has been taken against the student. The principal also handed over the footage recorded on the phone to Trithala police. It was said that the video was recorded to show to the child’s parents while school authorities denied claims of leaking the video into the public domain.

Last Friday, a teacher seized the mobile phone from this student after it was found that he was using it during class hours. The incident led to a paroxysm of reactions from the student who stormed to the principal’s room and issued death threats. The video went viral on social media.
