THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More information surface in connection with the death of a couple in Neyyar. The two have been identified as Sneha Dev and his wife Sreelatha of Muttada. The bodies of the two were found Thursday morning at 10 am.
The body of Sreelatha was found lying upside and down. The workers under the rural employment guarantee act scheme found the body first and informed the police.
The body of Sneha Dev was found nearby in a search conducted. The hands of both were tied together. A four-page suicide note, sandals and juice bottles were found from the shore.
The couple reached Neyyar in a car after deciding to take the drastic step. They jumped into the river then. Their only son Sreedev had died in February 2024.
Sreedev, a final year student of Law Academy, had died in an accident. The couple committed suicide as they were not able to recover from the shock.
Reports said the suicide note said that after the death of their son, their life is miserable and cannot bear it. Their son's school belt was also found on Sneha Dev's body. The body has been shifted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College after the inquest proceedings.
