Swept away by waves; Four people who went to bathe in sea drown in Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: Four people who went for a swim at Thikkodi Drive-in Beach were swept away by the waves. The deceased were identified as Aneesa, Vani, Binosh and Faisal, natives of Kalpetta. The accident took place at 4 pm on Sunday.

They were part of a 24-member group that had come to the beach for a picnic. Locals tried to rescue them, but they could not be saved. The bodies of all four deceased have been kept at Koyilandy Taluk Hospital.
