PALAKKAD: District Police Chief Ajith Kumar said that the double murder in Nenmara was carried out by accused Chenthamara in a planned manner. "He is a highly skilled criminal. He believed himself to be as strong as a tiger. He closely monitored the police's movements. That is why he was able to hide for two days.
He was taken into custody at around 10:30 pm on Tuesday from a field near his house. During interrogation, the accused revealed that he had come home from the forest because he could not bear the hunger. After the crime, he jumped over the barbed wire fence surrounding the house and kept the billhook used for the murder inside the house. He went to the forest through the back of the house. He has minor injuries on his body from jumping over the fence.
The accused had a clear idea of the place where he was hiding. He had bought and stored the weapons for the murder in advance. The details including the place from where he bought the weapons will be clear only during the evidence collection. He had been staying at the house for a month. Although Chenthamara says many things, there are contradictions in many of them. He did not get anyone's help to commit the crime or escape. He was working in a quarry after he was released on bail. He used to contact people by inserting a SIM card in the phone of his colleague here.
Double murder will be reenacted
An application will be made to take the accused into custody. Evidence will be collected after that. The double murder will be re-enacted. Necessary steps will be taken to prevent the accused from being released. The trial will be conducted expeditiously and punishment will be ensured. The police investigated well and found the culprit. Special thanks to the locals who helped in the investigation," said the District Police Chief.
No feeling of guilt, Happy
The District Police Chief said that the accused has no feeling of guilt for the crime he committed and is happy about it. It has not been confirmed whether he targeted more people. The doctors' examination did not find that the accused had consumed poison. It is believed that the poison bottle was abandoned to mislead the investigation. Chenthamara had a grudge against the family of the deceased Sudhakaran. He believed that his wife left him because of the neighbours' witchcraft. The initial conclusion is that this is what led to the murder. Other reasons will be investigated.
