THRISSUR: The auspicious Thrissur Pooram is around the corner, but police still have no leads in last year's alleged Thrissur Pooram disruption case. Two investigations were conducted under the leadership of DGP and ADGP Ajithkumar. A three-pronged investigation was started after this.

As part of this, the statements of VS Sunilkumar, a former minister and an LS candidate from Thrissur, were taken again. The three-pronged investigation was announced after allegations surfaced about the dubious role of police in the whole incident. This year's Pooram is on May 6th.

It is alleged that the report from the first two investigations did not see the light of the day since it mentioned the role of former ADGP Ajith Kumar. The former ADGP was later taken off from his charge as law and order chief after his covert meeting with RSS leaders ignited upheaval in Kerala politics.

However, the government is now all set to release the report. BJP alleged the time chosen as devious, which they fear would yet again disrupt the pooram this year.

According to Congress, ADGP Ajith Kumar met with RSS leaders in Thrissur on the behest of CM Pinarayi Vijayan to help Suresh Gopi win Thrissur. The LDF ally CPI also questioned the swift arrival of Suresh Gopi to the ruckus site even during midnight hours, when the pooram disruption news barely started reaching media.

Former minister VS Sunilkumar came forward against CPM-backed Thrissur Corporation Mayor MK Varghese for allegedly helping Suresh Gopi.
