Sanal used to constantly call and message another woman; police obtained strong evidence against Sanal from his house

ALAPPUZHA: Sanal, an auto-rickshaw driver, is the father of two children aged 11 and 3. He is currently on the run. A native of Mannancherry, Alappuzha, he went into hiding after the police registered a case following his wife’s complaint. For the past year, Sanal has allegedly been in a relationship with another woman. His wife became aware of their phone calls and WhatsApp messages, leading her to confront him about it.

Angered by her questioning, Sanal brutally assaulted her while she was holding their child. The police have acquired CCTV footage capturing Sanal assaulting his wife. After receiving her complaint, they had visited Sanal's residence to investigate. During their inquiry, they reviewed the CCTV footage from his house, which provided compelling evidence against him.

Sanal’s wife, who suffered severe injuries on her face, and their child, who sustained head injuries from the assault, had sought treatment at Alappuzha District General Hospital. Sanal and his wife had been married for 12 years. However, his wife’s complaint reveals that he has been involved with another woman for over a year. Sanal also has a history of violent offences and has been involved in multiple assault cases.

According to the police, the couple used to frequently engage in verbal arguments over Sanal’s extramarital affair. Despite being repeatedly questioned and warned, he refused to end the relationship. It was Sanal’s own father who rescued his wife and child from the violent attack.
