Body found wrapped in mat in Moolamattom; autorickshaw driver's statement turns crucial, six people taken into custody

IDUKKI: The police have confirmed that the body found wrapped in a mat in Moolamattom is a case of murder. The deceased has been identified as Sajan Samuel, a resident of Melukavu, Kottayam. Police have taken six people into custody in connection with the incident, and it is believed that they were directly involved in the crime. The police suspect that there were eight people in the killer group. The body was brought to the location in an autorickshaw. The crucial information in the case came from the autorickshaw driver, who reported his suspicions to Kanjar SI.

The locals alerted the police after a strong foul smell started spreading in the area. Following an investigation, the body was found. The body, wrapped in a mat, was found to be over three days old. The police also suspect that the murder might be linked to a rivalry between criminal groups.
