PATHANAMTHITTA: The police have already started using the same devious tricks from their book to wriggle out of the Pathanamthitta incident. The names of the responsible SI and other police officials who unleashed roguery at the wedding group have not been included in the FIR. There is also a discrepancy in the time of the police's arrival at the scene. There are rumours about work ongoing behind the curtain to save the accused police officers.
Pathanamthitta SI J U Jinu and civil police officers Jobin Joseph and Ashfaq led the lathi charge. They are now under suspension. Yet, it is a mystery that their names failed to make it into the FIR.
In the FIR, it is mentioned that the incident took place at 11 pm. Contrastingly, it is reported that the bar staff informed police about miscreants creating a nuisance at Aban Junction only at 11.15 pm.
The complaints against the Pathanamthitta SI and his colleagues have also been raised in the investigation by the CI and Pathanamthitta DySP of the same station. The investigating officers say that after taking more evidence from the complainants, the names of accused policemen will be included. It was also stated that the discrepancy in time will be checked.
Sreejith and his wife Sitara, who were injured in a police attack raised suspicion about police cunningly excluding the name of accused police officers from the FIR. Complaint will be made to the Chief Minister and DGP citing omission of names and discrepancy in time.
In the CCTV visuals, some people from the wedding group were seen entering the bar on the nearby premises. Near them stood two youngsters talking to the bar officials. It was against these two youngsters that the bar officials raised a complaint, but the police unleashed brutality at the wedding group after in a big gaffe.
