After 44 days, MLA Uma Thomas set to leave hospital tomorrow

KOCHI: Uma Thomas MLA, who had a fatal fall from a stage in Kaloor during a dance event, is all set to leave hospital on Thursday. After 44 days in hospital, Uma Thomas will return to her home tomorrow.

The hospital authorities said the MLA's health condition is satisfactory at present. Tomorrow evening, the MLA will meet the media along with the doctors of Kochi Renai Medicity. As renovation is ongoing at her house, Uma Thomas will be heading to a rented house on the Ernakulam pipeline road.

The MLA through a social media post thanked people who prayed for her wellbeing and also to people who continued to send her heartening messages. The accident happened on December 29. Thrikakkara MLA had come to participate as a guest in the dance program held at Kaloor Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. While walking on the sidelines of the stage, the MLA lost balance and fell from a height to land on the synthetic track. Due to the impact of the fall, MLA's brain, lungs and ribs were seriously injured.
