THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: PSC is not utilizing the advances in technology. At the age when even banking transactions can be done securely through mobile phones, candidates are not getting PSC services through mobile phones. Candidates who do not have a computer or laptop still have to rely on internet cafes to send applications.

The problem will be solved if a mobile application is set up. However, PSC is not ready for that yet. Once the app is ready, candidates will be able to access services through mobile phones.

PSC still relies on paper for some matters. Once candidates who are included in multiple rank lists have entered the job of their choice, they have to submit an application on paper if they want to opt out of other rank lists. The application has to be submitted by getting a notary attestation done. For this, the candidate has to spend a lot of money. PSC has not been able to provide the facility of relinquishment (self-exclusion) through the profile.

Candidates are demanding that PSC services be made available through a mobile app.
