KOTTAYAM: The ragging visuals witnessed at the Government Nursing College in Kottayam have surfaced. The visuals show the complainant being tied up and harassed in the college hostel. His entire body is being stabbed with a compass. The visuals show the accused injuring the complainant’s private parts. The complainant is being stabbed repeatedly with the compass. Meanwhile, the student can be heard screaming in pain when applied lotion to the injured area.
The shocking visuals will make you think whether all these are happening in Kerala. The scenes are so horrific which cannot be shown outside. Six first-year students of Gandhinagar Government Nursing College faced brutal torture in the boys' hostel. The court has remanded five of the arrested in the incident.
They are harassed by threatening them with a knife. They should be paid Rs 800 to buy alcohol. If they do not, they will be beaten and grabbed. They come drunk at night and start new tortures. The children said the harassment started on November 4 when classes started. There are only six boys in the first-year general nursing batch. The victims are five natives of Thiruvananthapuram and one from Idukki.
Third-year students arrested are Samuel John (20) of Kottayam, Vivek (21) of Nedungad, Jeeva (19) of Wayanad, Rijil Jith (20) of Manjeri and Rahul Raj (22) of Wandoor. They have been suspended from the college. The college authorities said that a commission has been set up to investigate. The outside world came to know about the incident when the student, who was beaten up for not giving them money to buy liquor the other day, informed his parents.
