IMPHAL: Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey has called on individuals to return any looted or illegally held weapons within seven days. She promised that no punitive measures would be taken against those who return the weapons by the deadline. However, strict actions will be taken against anyone found with weapons after the seven-day period.

Meanwhile, security forces on Thursday arrested four militants from two different organisations in Manipur’s Churachandpur, Thoubal, and Imphal East districts. On Tuesday, a member of the United Kuki National Army was arrested from Churachandpur, while on Wednesday, three active cadres of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG) were apprehended from Thoubal and Imphal East. Officials stated that the militants were involved in cases of looting, abduction, arms smuggling, and drug trafficking.
