Temperatures will rise today and tomorrow

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department has announced that the temperature in the state is likely to rise by up to three degrees Celsius above normal today and tomorrow. A yellow alert has been issued in 11 districts. The alert is in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts. The temperature is likely to rise up to 38 degrees in Thrissur and Palakkad districts and up to 37 degrees in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts. There is a possibility of rain with thunder and strong winds in isolated places in Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts.

Follow these guidelines:

Avoid prolonged direct sunlight exposure between 11 am and 3 pm.

Drink plenty of fresh water. Continue drinking water even if you are not thirsty.

Avoid dehydrating beverages kuje alcohol, coffee, tea, carbonated soft drinks, etc. during the day.

Wear loose, light-colored cotton clothes.

Wear footwear when going out. It is advisable to use an umbrella or hat.

Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Consume ORS solution, Sambaram, etc if needed.
