ISLAMABAD: Another terrorist attack in Pakistan. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said that a bus carrying Pakistani soldiers was attacked. The terrorist attack targeted a military convoy travelling from Quetta to Taftan. The BLA claims that 90 Pakistani soldiers were killed. However, the Pakistan Army denied this. The Army clarified that only five people, including three soldiers, were killed. No further details of the incident have been released. The attack by the rebels took place on National Highway 40 in the Nushki district of Balochistan. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
Recently, the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) had hijacked a train carrying more than 400 passengers and killed 25 of them. Among the dead were Pakistani security personnel. 346 hostages were freed. The BLA hijacked the Jaffer Express, which was carrying 440 passengers from Quetta in Balochistan to Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, on Tuesday.
The BLA has claimed to have taken 214 hostages, including soldiers, policemen and members of the spy agency ISI. It is also said that 50 of them were killed. The Pakistani military has not clarified this. The BLA is the dominant force among the various armed groups fighting for an independent Balochistan state.
