Commerce and Technology college students assaulting Arts and Science College college student; five arrested

KOZHIKODE: Chevayur police have arrested five people in connection with the assault on college student in Vellimadukunnu.

Rifas (20), Shahin (21), Ajaz Ahmed (21), Nihal (21) and Mohammed Yasir (21), final year students of JDT Islam Institute of Commerce and Technology (ICT), Vellimadukunnu, who assaulted Ahmed Mujtaba of JDT Arts and Science College, were arrested.

There was a clash between them at the college earlier. Later, on the night of March 13, they again assaulted Ahmed Mujtaba at the Vappolithazham tea shop on Vellimadukunnu-Kovoor road. The injured student was discharged from the hospital yesterday.
A case was registered against 13 people, including eight other students who were identified, on the complaint of Ahmed Mujtaba. The suspects arrested by a team led by Chevayur SI Nimin K Divakaran have been remanded.
