ALAPPUZHA: A complaint has been filed that a separate attendance book has been kept at the Alappuzha Collectorate for two Scheduled Caste employees instead of the register book that has been used for 17 years. Vallikunnam Kaduvinal native T Ranjith, who works as a chowkidar (office assistant) in the Collector's control room in the Revenue Department, has filed a complaint with the Scheduled Caste Commission in this regard.
Ranjith's wife Krishnapriya has filed a complaint with the Governor, DGP and District Police Chief, saying that she fears that the mental torture her husband is facing will lead to a repeat of Naveen Babu's history.
Ranjith says in his complaint that he and Raghunath, who works with him, have been signing the register signed by the typists who are control room employees, since 2007. Both of them have night duty in the control room. Husur Shirastadar demanded that from January 1 of this year, both employees should sign the register signed by temporary employees. They signed in that register one day. The complaint also states that after filing an RTI application, a special attendance book was created for him and Raghunath, who are Scheduled Castes. Ranjith, who has won the Good Service Entry three times for his performance, is a former Collectorate Staff Council Secretary.
