Drug-addicted youth threatens to kill his mother, grandmother and sister's child; mother hands him over to police

KOZHIKODE: A young man addicted to drugs was handed over to the police by his own mother after he allegedly threatened to kill family members. The arrested individual has been identified as Rahul, a native of Elathur in Kozhikode.

According to police reports, Rahul had issued death threats against his mother and grandmother. The police took him into custody from his residence early this morning. Speaking to the media, Rahul's mother revealed that he had also threatened to kill his sister’s child and willingly go to jail.

She further stated that Rahul began using drugs at the age of 13 and despite repeated attempts to reform him, he continued down a criminal path. "He is accused in multiple cases including POCSO and assault cases. No preventive detention like KAAPA has been imposed on him. It was last night that we informed the police. He had even fixed the date to kill us," the mother said.

Rahul’s arrest has been officially recorded in connection with a POCSO case, police confirmed.
