Young cricketer drowns in Kozhithuruth bund in Paravur

PARAVUR: A young cricketer drowned while swimming at the Puthenvelikara-Ilanthikkara Kozhithuruth sand bund on Wednesday evening. Mookambi Road resident Manav (17), son of Maneek Poulose and Tina, died in the incident. Manav was a Plus Two (Biology) student at Paravur Government Higher Secondary School.

Manav arrived in the sand bund with seven friends at around 4 pm on Wednesday. Shortly after entering the water, Manv drowned while one of his friends jumped to save him. Another friend extended his arm and helped one of the two friends who got drowned. Tragically, Manav went missing in the depths. The locals searched, but he could not be found.

Finally, the scuba divers found the body from the depths. Manav was rushed to Chalaka Medical College, but his life could not be saved. The body is currently kept in the hospital morgue.
