NEW DELHI: The RSS mouthpiece 'Organiser' severely lashed out at Mohanlal’s new movie ‘Empuraan’ for its villainous depiction of Sangh politics. An article published in the mouthpiece states that ‘Empuraan’ employed an old political agenda to push an anti-Hindu narrative and disrupt societal harmony. The article also blamed actor Mohanlal for betraying his fans.
The unabashed attack from RSS against ‘Empuraan’ comes when the state BJP leadership has softened its stance on the movie.
'Empuraan delves into the sensitive topic of the post-Godhra riots with clear and alarming bias. It is a mystery why an experienced actor like Mohanlal would choose a propaganda story for his film that only fuels hatred between communities. Mohanlal's decision to act in this film is a betrayal of his loyal fan base. There is no doubt that Empuraan should be exposed as an anti-Hindu-India film," the article said.
The film also criticizes Prithviraj's previous political stances including the actor’s decision to play a role in ‘Variyankunnath Kunjahammad Haji’, a dubious character in Indian political history. However, the movie was eventually dropped.
Empuraan on Saturday entered Rs 100 crore club in just 48 hours.
