KOLLENGODE: A mother and her son were found dead in a pond used for agricultural water storage. The deceased have been identified as Bindu (44), wife of lottery vendor Kaladharan, and their son Sanuj (13). The incident took place at a pond in Ambittanchalla in Nenmeni, Kollengode, where the local residents discovered their bodies.

According to reports, Bindu and her son had gone to bathe in a privately owned pond nearby after visiting another house where a person had passed away. Around 11 AM, when children and women arrived at the pond for bathing, they noticed Bindu's body floating in the water. Upon receiving the information, the Kollengode police and the Fire and Rescue team arrived at the scene and recovered her body.

During the recovery process, two slippers were spotted in the water, prompting further searches, which led to the discovery of Sanuj’s body.

It is reported that Bindu was an epilepsy patient and had suffered multiple seizures in the past. Kollengode Sub-Inspectors Binoy Mathew, Pradeep, and women police officers conducted the inquest. After post-mortem examinations at Palakkad District Hospital, the bodies were handed over to the family.

Sanuj was an eighth-grade student at Puthunagaram Muslim School. His sister, Sanuja, is also an eighth-grade student at Parali School.
