Malayali CBI inspector terminated from service

KOCHI: A Malayali CBI inspector has been terminated from service. The officer terminated is S Unnikrishnan Nair, an inspector in the Kolkata unit. He was an officer in the Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram units.

Unnikrishnan was terminated on charges of recording the telephone calls of Kochi CBI SP S Shyni without the knowledge or consent of superiors and keeping case documents in his possession. Unnikrishnan Nair has investigated many cases including Palakkad Sampath's custodial death case. The dismissal order stated that he will not be entitled to any benefits during the period of suspension.
