NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly criticized the Congress' stance on the Waqf Amendment Act. Modi alleged that the Congress is spreading vote bank lies and they are treating the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes as second-class citizens. He was speaking at a public event in Haryana’s Hisar. There are lakhs of hectares of land under the Waqf Board. However, these lands and properties have not been properly utilized to help the poor and needy, alleged the Prime Minister.
There are hectares of land in the name of Waqf. If the benefits of Waqf properties had been given to the needy, it would have benefited them. However, the land mafia has benefited from these properties. The central government is implementing social justice through the Waqf Act. With the new changes in the Waqf Act by making amendments, land grabbing will also end. Looting of the poor will also end.
According to the new Waqf Act, the Waqf Board cannot touch the land or property of a tribal. Poor Muslims will get their rights. This is real social justice. Dr Ambedkar was the protector of the Constitution, but the Congress has destroyed it. Congress is spreading the virus of vote bank politics,' Modi clarified.
