Neriamangalam Maniyanpara accident, KSRTC driver suspended

IDUKKI: An accident occurred when the RSC 598 bus of the Kumily unit overturned at Maniyanpara near Neriamangalam, killing one passenger and injuring 21 passengers and the conductor.

The KSRTC Vigilance Department conducted a preliminary investigation into the accident and found that the driver of the Kumily unit, KR Mahesh, had committed a serious lapse. The driver was suspended from service pending investigation.

A state-level accident monitoring committee has been formed and is working to reduce accidents involving KSRTC buses. If such accidents occur again due to negligence or lapses on the part of KSRTC employees, strict action will be taken against the culprits.
