KOLLAM: The investigation report submitted by the Travancore Devaswom Board, Kollam Assistant Commissioner, found private individuals to be behind hoisting the portrait of RSS leaders atop an elephant during a temple festival. The report also denied the Temple Advisory Committee's alleged role in the whole issue. The report has been handed over to the Devaswom Board authorities. The Travancore Devaswom Board meeting to be held on Monday will discuss the issue.

The Kollam East Police had registered a case in the incident on the complaint of Eravipuram native Anand Vishnu. The case is registered against the Ashramam Sri Krishna Swamy Temple Advisory Committee and the Kollam Puthiyakavu Temple Trust.

RSS founder Hedgewar’s portrait was displayed at the temple festival, which is considered to be a potential violation of the rules. The complaint pointed out the breach of High Court norms banning political parties from spreading their ideology or using religious festivals to influence people. The Youth Congress and DYFI have filed a complaint about the incident.
