KOCHI: The FIR filed by the police states that actor Shine Tom Chacko fled from a Kochi hotel during a raid conducted by the DANSAF (Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force), allegedly in an attempt to destroy evidence. Authorities have dismissed the actor’s claim that he fled the scene fearing an attack by goons, stating it lacks credibility.

On the day of the incident, Shine reportedly arrived at the hotel in an auto-rickshaw in the morning. Soon after, a young woman from Thrissur also arrived at his room. Police found that the woman remained in the hotel room until around 7 PM. Investigations also revealed that two more people came to the room later and left.

At the time of the police raid, only Ahmed Shah, a native of Malappuram, was present in the hotel room where Shine was staying. He has been named as the second accused in the case. After fleeing Kochi, Shine reportedly escaped to Tamil Nadu, as per police findings. He later appeared at the police station on Saturday morning after receiving a police notice.

Shine was arrested after nearly four hours of questioning. The charges filed against him, including drug use, are bailable offences under current laws. His hair and nail samples were collected for forensic testing in connection with the drug case. After a medical examination, Shine Tom Chacko was released on bail under the custody of his parents.
