Impersonating as police and health inspector; Feroke police catches accused who stole mobile phones and one lakh rupees

FEROKE: The accused who stole eleven mobile phones and one lakh rupees last Thursday, was arrested by the police. The incident happened in Feroke where migrant workers lived. Karulayi Amarambalam Panangadan Abdul Rasheed (43) of was caught by Feroke police.

The accused was taken into custody from a lodge in Nilambur at 4 am yesterday morning. Five mobile phones were recovered from the accused. The accused told the police that he had sold the rest of the phones. The accused was brought custody. Other phones will be recovered later. He had earlier said that he was a health inspector and posed as a police officer in many places. There are also five other cases in which he is also the culprit, which includes stealing mobile phones from migrant workers based in Malappuram and Thrissur. The investigation team led by Feroke ACP AM Siddique arrested the accused.
