THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Bar Council has banned Advocate Bailin Das, accused in the brutal assault on a junior lawyer in Vanchiyoor. The Bar Council has banned Bailin Das from appearing in court from today. The ban is until the disciplinary action is completed. The Bar Council has also announced that Bailin Das will be given a show-cause notice. The final decision will be taken after knowing the decision of the disciplinary committee. Bar Council Chairman TS Ajith responded that the allegation that Bar Council office bearers helped the lawyer is baseless and that the incident was something unusual.

JV Shyamili of Parasala Kottavila Puthuvalputhan house, an advocate of the Vanchiyoor District Court, was beaten up by her senior advocate the other day. The brutality was due to Shyamili asking about her unjust dismissal from work. The advocate's face was disfigured after being slapped by hand and a mop stick used to sweep the floor. Her face was bruised and swollen. The right eye and jaw were badly injured. There is a minor fracture below the eye. Shyamili is the mother of a six-month-old baby.

Law Minister P Rajeev said that the incident of brutally beating a junior advocate is serious. The minister was speaking to the media after meeting lawyer Shyamili. The minister also stated that this is something that has never been heard of before in Kerala.
