PALAKKAD: Palakkad Municipal Councilor Mini Krishnakumar responded to the complaint filed against rapper Vedan for including disparaging remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his song lyrics.

Mini Krishnakumar filed a complaint with the NIA and the Home Department, alleging that Vedan's song 'Voice of the Voiceless' contained insulting remarks about the Prime Minister.

Mini Krishnakumar:

"He is an artist with such a large following and is influential among the masses. It is the most important factor that led to the complaint. He mentioned about slavery practices in India. Where in India is the practice still followed? With these baseless allegations, Vedan has sown the seeds of doubt in the minds of the new generation.

It is up to the NIA to investigate the reason behind the unsolicited injection of casteism in society, which is alleged to divide the people. I am an Indian citizen and I don’t think such gibberish talks even made against the country's prime minister will be allowed anywhere else.

As soon as I came across this, I filed a complaint with the NIA and the Home Ministry. Although the song came almost four years back, I chanced upon it only now.”
