IDUKKI: As the whole Kerala remained shell-shocked to witness a baby miraculously survive a fall from running jeep, the Munnar police on Tuesday filed cases against the parents for handling the child carelessly. It is learnt that the parents have been booked under non-bailable offences as per Juvenile justice. The Child Rights Commission have also filed a case against the parents.

As per sources, police have found out that the parents have failed to ensure the safety of the child. However, it is learnt that there won't be an immediate action regarding the incident. Police are currently investigating the matter.

Meanwhile, the baby’s father Satheesh said that the mother failed to notice the child falling as she was sleeping due to tiredness. He also added that he is ready to face the proceedings legally.

The shocking incident occurred on Monday when the baby fell from the running jeep near Rajamala check-post in Idukki. The family was returning after visiting the Palani temple.
