Singer Shahabaz Aman has spoken out against the banning of Pakistani musician Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s social media accounts in India. Shahabaz expressed his protest by sharing a screenshot of Nusrat’s banned Instagram account.

'No wonder. No shock. No complaint. But… my beloved India… Please, allow my heart to ache. That is where all the masters of the world belong. Will that too be banned here?' — Shahabaz wrote.

As the post went viral, many came out in support of Shahabaz. Rapper Dabzee also shared the post backing him. Comments under the post read: “I wish music was not part of this,” “Music and art have no boundaries,” “Music has no nation, no caste, no language.”

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is regarded as one of the 200 greatest singers of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. The New York Times had also named him as the greatest Qawwali singer of this generation.
