KOCHI: An Air India Express flight from the UAE to Kerala detoured midway to land in Muscat instead causing inconvenience to passengers. Officials cited technical glitches as the reason for the diversion.
The flight, IX 436, which departed from Dubai at 5:00 pm on Friday, was scheduled to arrive in Kochi at 11:00 pm. However, the pilot recognized a technical glitch and landed in Muscat.
More than 200 passengers bound for Kerala were thus stranded in the airport. The officials tried to alleviate tensions and promised that the flight would take off within 1.5 hours.
