AHMEDABAD: The death toll in the Ahmedabad plane crash that shook the country, is rising. One more body was found on the roof of the hostel where medical students were staying, from the tail end of the crashed Air India plane. The body was completely burnt. The search for bodies from the debris is still ongoing.
Multiple agencies, including the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ahmedabad Crime Branch and local police, are investigating the accident. National Investigation Agency officials also visited the accident spot on the same day.
Officials said that DNA analysis of the remains recovered from the crash site could be completed in three days. Since most of the bodies were in a burnt state, it is not possible to identify them without DNA testing. Relatives of 215 people have already provided DNA samples.
