THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former MLA and member of the CPM state committee, Pirappancode Murali, made an explosive allegation about VS Achuthanandan's infamous defeat in Mararikulam and the ‘capital punishment’ statement made by a CPM leader against VS.
Pirappancode, who was a representative in the 2012 session, made the statements at a time when the party was busy working ways to come out clean in the ‘capital punishment’ statement by terming it as baseless rumours. Pirappancode warned of fierier political discussions in Kerala after the release of his book 'VS Communist Manushyavatharam', which is all set to be released.
“The young leader indeed demanded capital punishment against VS. It happened for real and is no fiction as now propagated by the party. The senior leaders tacitly approved of the comment from the young leader with a sly smirk but cared not to correct him. The young leader who spoke about capital punishment is an avid reader. After making this comment, he reached the state committee and then the secretariat.
VS was defeated by fraud in Mararikulam. PJ Francis, who won from the seat, has revealed to me many things. Francis admitted to me about getting help from CPM to topple Achuthanandan. CPM central committee members and a state committee member stabbed from the behind to defeat VS. All of them escaped the party's actions. The state leadership deliberately ruined the chances of forming a successive government in 2011. Party candidates were deliberately defeated in many safe seats. This was to prevent VS from continuing as Chief Minister."
Pirappancode Murali said that the reason he was not included in the party's committee was that he demanded that VS be made the Chief Minister at least in the initial phase in 2016.
