NEW DELHI: Amidst heated debate in parliament over the Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, Priyanka Gandhi, the MP from Kerala’s Wayanad, raised serious doubts over the government's claim of victory in the standoff against the neighbouring nation.
“The Government boasted about bringing back peace to the valley and engaged in propaganda to lure more tourists to Kashmir. Falling for such promises, almost 1600 tourists from across the country reached the Baisaran valley that day. 26 among them were brutally shot down by terrorists. Even after one hour, no security official reached the spot. The whole high valour claims of high security in Kashmir were a sham," said Priyanka.
The prime minister and the home minister are equally responsible for the tragedy. They should take the responsibility for the lives lost.” Said Priyanka Gandhi.
Meanwhile, Congress President Mapanna Mallikarjun Kharge called out the government for the shambolic handling of the Pahalgam attack and asked for the Prime Minister’s resignation.
