Rail traffic disrupted in Kerala due to maintenance work; two trains cancelled, Vande Bharat running late

KOCHI: Rail traffic got disrupted in Kerala due to ongoing maintenance work on the Aluva bridge on Sunday. Two trains have been cancelled. Trains, including Vande Bharat, are running late. Palakkad Junction-Ernakulam South MEMU (66609) and Ernakulam South - Palakkad Junction MEMU (66610) were cancelled on Sunday. The railways announced that the Gorakhpur Thiruvananthapuram Central Raptisagar Express (12511) will depart one hour and 20 minutes late.

The Kannur-Alappuzha Executive (16308) will be delayed by one hour and 15 minutes. The Mangaluru Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Vande Bharat Express (20631) will be delayed by 25 minutes. The Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru Vande Bharat Express (20632), scheduled to depart from Thiruvananthapuram Central at 4.05 pm, will be ten minutes late. The Secunderabad-Thiruvananthapuram Central Sabari Express (17230) will be delayed by 30 minutes. The Jamnagar-Tirunelveli Express (19578) will be delayed by ten minutes.

A total of eight trains are running late. Railways requested passengers to make alternate travel arrangements on Sunday, considering the rail traffic disruptions.
