Death of Minister Saseendran's niece and husband; Premarajan suspected of killing wife and committing suicide 

KANNUR: More details have emerged in the incident where an elderly couple was found burnt to death. The dead are Premarajan (75) of Chirakkal Alavil
and his wife A K Sreelekha (69. The initial reports are that Premarajan committed suicide after killing Sreelekha. The couple was found dead last evening.

The driver reached the house in the evening, but no one opened the door. The bodies were then found in a search. Their children are working abroad.

When the Valapattanam police reached the scene and conducted further investigation, they found a hammer and a heavy object near the bodies. Sreelekha had a wound on the back of her head. The police believe that this may have been caused when she fell.

Sreelekha is niece of Minister A K Saseendran. The couple's daughter had arrived from abroad yesterday. Meantime, relatives said the two did not have any financial liabilities. The police are also investigating whether any other mental issues led to the death.

Premarajan's driver, Sarosh, told media that he had come to pick up the couple’s son from the airport. A hammer and a bottle were found near the body. Premarajan's face was burnt. The driver said that he saw the back of Sreelekha's head broken and blood in the room.
