THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint filed against Kadakampally Surendran alleged that he misbehaved with women while serving as minister. The complaint was filed by public activist and Congress leader Muneer of Pothencode. The complaint was filed with the DGP.
The complaint demanded that a case be filed against Kadakampally based on Swapna Suresh's revelation that he spoke badly and approached her. The complaint also said that women who levelled the revelations against the MLA should be identified, their statements should be recorded and a case filed.
The complaint against the CPM leader comes after sexual allegations were levelled against Congress leader Rahul Mamkootathil and BJP state vice president C Krishna Kumar. A woman, relative of Krishna Kumar, complained that he sexually abused her. She is a native of Palakkad and lives in Ernakulam. The woman had complained about the rape to BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar via e-mail.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar's office had also confirmed of getting the mail. However, C Krishna Kumar's response was that the rape allegations were baseless. Krishna Kumar said that one, who left the party is behind this and that legal action would be taken against him.
Meantime, a special team has started an investigation into the case of Rahul Mamkootathil, for stalking and harassing women. The complaints which were in the possession of the first investigating officer have been handed over to the new investigating officer, Shaji. Rahul, who is facing sexual allegations, was suspended from the party. He also resigned as the Youth Congress president.
