THRISSUR: A complaint has been filed against the Kunnamkulam police for brutally attacking a youth congress leader for no reason. Chovannoor Mandal President Sujith was subjected to brutal attack. The incident happened on April 5, 2023. Sujith had questioned the police for threatening his friends who were standing on the roadside. Kunnamkulam SI Nuhman, who did not like this, took him to the station and brutally attacked him.

He was sent to jail on a false charge of causing trouble while drunk and obstructing the police from carrying out their duties. Sujith, who was granted bail, obtained the footage of the attack under the Right to Information Act. This video is being widely circulated on social media. The youth was brutally beaten by five policemen. Sujith alleged that he suffered hearing loss in the attack.

The Chavakkad Magistrate Court granted bail to Sujith after finding that he was not drunk during a medical examination. The examination conducted as per the court's instructions also revealed that Sujith had suffered hearing loss.
