Running sex racket using aspiring serial, movie actresses; actress Anushka arrested; two film stars rescued

MUMBAI: An actress who was running a sex racket centre by ensnaring film and serial actresses has been arrested. Anushka Moni Mohan Das, 41, was arrested. She was arrested in a raid conducted based on a tip-off received by the police about her centre in Thane district. The police also rescued two film stars who were caught in her trap. Police say they were active in television serials and Bangla films.

Anushka had been running the sex racket centre for a long time. Her method was to deliver women according to the needs of her clients. Anushka used to collect huge amounts of money from clients for movie and serial stars. She used to threaten and coerce people, including actresses, for her deals.

The police, who came to know about the centre, kept an eye on Anushka. The police tried to arrest her with evidence, when it became clear that the information was true. The police team arrived under the guise of customers. Anushka, who did not realize that they were policemen, promised to meet them at a mall. When she arrived there, the waiting police team arrested Anushka.

The women who were rescued from the racket have been shifted to a shelter home. The police said that there are other people behind the sex racket and that the investigation is ongoing. They are also investigating whether more actresses have fallen into Anushka's trap.
