ALAPPUZHA: BDJS President Thushar Vellappally on Wednesday said that his party will not field a candidate in Aroor for the upcoming by-election. He said that he was forced to take such a decision as the BJP failed to fulfill its promise to the BDJS. Thushar made the revelation after participating in a party meeting.
According to Thushar, BDJS is not getting any consideration as an ally while working at close quarters with the government. "We would like to stand by the NDA. However, we are not getting any due considerations within the front. Mere promises will not make things work. NDA leadership has to understand that there are no friends or enemies in politics and that their plans are not working in the state. So we decided not to field a candidate in Aroor as we have much to sort out within the NDA," he said. He also pointed out that he contested from Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency following the instruction from BJP chief Amit Shah.
